The Concern

Traffic congestion, speeding, intersection design, roundabouts, unsafe crossings, and gaps in sidewalks are recurring quality-of-life concerns.

What Deltona Can Actually Control

Deltona controls some local streets and capital projects, while many major corridors belong to Volusia County or FDOT. The Commissioner can vote on City projects and funding while advocating and coordinating on roads controlled by other agencies.

Advocacy + Legislative Commitment

My Current Commitment

I will identify who owns each problem road, use crash and speed data where available, and work for the highest-value safety and congestion improvements rather than pretending the City controls every roadway.

Proposed Actions

  • Publish a District 6 road-ownership and recurring-problem map.
  • Prioritize safety improvements using crash, speed, pedestrian, and school-route data.
  • Coordinate with Volusia County, FDOT, and the River to Sea TPO on major corridors.
  • Track planned road and sidewalk projects against actual completion dates.
