The City directly owns, maintains, programs, and funds municipal parks and recreation facilities.

I will work to maintain existing parks well, measure actual use, and evaluate new facilities or programs against demand, operating cost, safety, and equitable access.

Proposed Actions

  • Publish park maintenance and capital priorities.
  • Use utilization and resident feedback when adding amenities.
  • Explore partnerships before constructing duplicative facilities.
  • Improve connections between parks, neighborhoods, and safe walking/biking routes where practical.

Park utilization, maintenance backlog, recreation programming, capital needs, operating costs, and resident demand.
